PRAYER: CONFESSION - FOUNDATIONAL PROMISES OF FORGIVENESS
WEEK 1 | DAYS 1–6 ABIDE QUESTIONS
July 6th
God invites us to "reason" with Him through honest confession. What is one area of your life right now where it feels difficult to be completely transparent with Him? How does realizing that God fully cleanses you and removes your stains (sins), rather than just covering them up, change how you view your past mistakes?
July 7th
If a contrite heart allows us to stay in "abiding fellowship" with God, can you think of a time when admitting a mistake or dropping your pride actually brought you closer to Him? List some practical steps you can take to move your prayer life from "empty religious ritual" to true spiritual brokenness and humility in your daily times of prayer.
July 8th
1 John 1:9 highlights that God is "faithful and just" to forgive and cleanse us from unrighteousness. How does focusing on God's trustworthy character make it easier to approach Him when you know you have messed up? Identify specific areas where you feel a barrier between you and God and bring them to Him for forgiveness and cleansing.
July 9th
David states that his sin is ultimately against God alone. How would viewing your sins as a direct offense against a loving God change your perspective compared to just feeling bad about breaking a rule? What would change in your walk with God if, in your prayer life, you completely "dropped your excuses" for violating God's standard of truth?
July 10th
Sin creates barriers that make us want to hide from God. What is one specific area in your life where you need to experience His complete cleansing so you can feel confident that you are securely rooted in Him (abiding)? How would believing God desires to be merciful and loving toward you change the way you approach Him after you sin?
July 11th
Realizing the sheer magnitude of God's grace should naturally lead to a healthy "fear" or reverence of Him. How does knowing your sins are completely removed motivate you to live differently day to day? How does embracing His complete forgiveness help restore your confidence to talk to Him and enjoy continuous, abiding fellowship every day?
